Biographical history
Nemecz Ernő, a Magyar Tudományos Akadémia rendes tagja, geokémikus, mineralógus és kristálytani szakértő, a földtudományok doktora és egyetemi tanár volt. 1949-ben nevezték ki docensnek a Veszprémi Vegyipari Egyetemen, ahol 1954-ben saját tanszéket kapott. 1953–1954 között az egyetem dékánjaként, 1971 és 1980 között pedig rektorként vezette az intézményt. 1959-ben szerzett kandidátusi címet a földtudományok területén, 1968-ban pedig doktori fokozatot.
